Last Week (Feb 16th)

Last week we had Emma Kelsey from USGS come and practice her talk titled Technology and seabirds: How innovative technology can influence the study of marine top predators. This was a practice talk for an upcoming seminar with an audience of math and science undergraduates at a liberal arts college. Emma spoke about about how seabirds can influence, and be influenced by, technological advancements. She presented how microtechnologies can increase our understanding of seabird incubation behavior, and how the future of offshore wind farm development could be influenced by our understanding of seabird distribution at sea.

Thank you CORE members for providing excellent feedback that will help Emma convey her research better to a diverse group of undergraduate students!
